Talent management seeks to attract, identify, develop, engage, retain and deploy individuals who are considered particularly valuable to an organisation. By managing talent strategically, organisations can build a high performance workplace, encourage a learning organisation, add value to their branding agenda, and contribute to diversity management. For these reasons, HR professionals widely consider talent management to be among their key priorities.
Back in March 2016 the CIPD, in collaboration with the Human Capital Leadership Institute (HCLI), produced a report looking at the potential future of 'talent' in Singapore in 2030. Based on iterative conversations with Singaporean and Singaporean-based experts and a review of existing literature on 'talent' and official trend data, the report explores what is understood as 'talent' in Singapore and what drivers will shape the context of 'talent' in the next 15 years.
